Christmas Eve was mostly a driving day. My sister was a bit tired, so her sister weather magic failed to completely dispel the clouds. Despite this, we managed to squeeze in zorbing at Rotorua, lunch at Kuirau Park (in the midst of geysers, mud pools, and sulfurous hot pools), ice cream by Lake Taupo, a sunset scenic route around the volcanic Mt Raupehu, then straight shot it to Wellington just in time for Christmas.
675 kilometers, 8.5 hours of driving, one day. Merry Christmas Eve. :)
