Day 224: A revival and a promise!

Hello, long-silent blog, I offer sincere apologies for our long silence.

So much has been happening that we have hardly enough time to catch our breath, much less write or post about what's going on. Let it be known now, though, that I am certainly not where I thought I would be one year ago or even six months ago.

Claire and I are currently in Hanmer Springs in South Island, and we are currently working for accommodation in a particularly (and, as quite the adjustment from our previous living arrangement, peculiarly) flash luxury apartment complex. It's been amazing to air out our things and settle in for a little bit, so I'm hoping that I'll be able to buckle down and do some serious writing. I suspect that without a stated intention, I'm not going to follow through, so I am making a public promise:

For the next two and a half weeks, I will write a backdated blog entry every day.

I don't promise that they'll be particularly good entries or even that I'll be able to post them, given our flaky internet, but I will do my best to fill in the gap between Day 111 and Day 224. We've done a ton and I want to share our crazy adventure.
